Prompt offers three employment options to accommodate Writing Coaches with different levels of availability—some Writing Coaches work exclusively for Prompt, while others may have time-intensive commitments outside of Prompt.
Additionally, Prompt offers an income guarantee to ensure that you earn a certain amount over the course of the year. We expect that all Writing Coaches will significantly exceed this figure, but if for any reason we are unable to provide you with enough work to meet your income guarantee, we’ll make up the difference between your actual and guaranteed earnings at the end of the admissions season, as long as you remain in Good Standing with our network and consistently complete your assigned work each day.
This document will cover the monthly stipend, projected earnings, income guarantee, and time commitment of each option.
Important Notes:
This is the best choice if you’re able to devote the majority of your working time to Prompt (especially in October, our busiest month!). Throughout the season, our hourly requirements for Option 1 coaches typically range from 20-30 hours per week, with requirements in October reaching as high as 34 hours per week.
Projected Earnings: $16,000 (from July through January)
Income Guarantee: $12,044 for a June 30 start date, with a two-week training period
Monthly Stipend: $100/month
Average daily hours (5 days a week): 4-5 hours/day; 6-7 hours/day in October
This is the best choice if you have a flexible schedule but may be unable to dedicate more than 25 hours per week to your work with Prompt, even in our busiest months. Throughout the season, our hourly requirements for Option 2 coaches typically range from 10-20 hours per week, with requirements in October reaching as high as 24 hours per week.
Projected Earnings: $10,500 (from July through January)
Income Guarantee: $7,961 for a June 30 start date, with a two-week training period
Monthly Stipend: $60/month
Average daily hours (5 days a week): 3-4 hours/day; 4-5 hours/day in October
This is the best choice if you have a full-time job, are enrolled in a graduate program, or have other time-intensive commitments that would allow for only 2-3 hours of work per day, 5 days per week. Throughout the season, our hourly requirements for Option 3 coaches typically range from 8-14 hours per week, with requirements in October reaching as high as 18 hours per week.
